Let me set the record straight right off the bat and state once and for all that no one from the band Sugar Ray was ever in Land of the Lost!

What has been a rumor circulating for the past few years has finally reached the boiling point when cable music channel VH1 aired a piece on the the show "Before They Were Rock Stars" featuring the band Sugar Ray. The show featured clips from Land of the Lost, and continued the rumors spread across the Internet.

On the band's bio section of their official site, the following statements are made:

"Rodney (the bands guitarist) was a brief cast member on "Land of The Lost," where he played the fuzzy, lovable Chaka. Unfortunately, the gig only lasted through the first six episodes. Remember how there were two Darrens on "Bewitched?" Similar deal. "It was another lifetime," says Sheppard."

It must have been another lifetime alright, and in someone else's body too.

So for those who have heard the rumor and wondered about the truth, the hard fact is that Phillip Paley played Chaka in the Land of the Lost, and no he isn't in the band Sugar Ray!
