View Full Version : The New Land of the Lost
When I first saw the 90's version of Land of the Lost I thought it was pretty cool. I know that most other Land of the Lost fans don't like it and my liking it might be attributed partly to the fact that I never saw the original Land of the Lost. Even after coming acros this site and others I still think the remake was cool. I have two questions, did any Sleestak talk, other then the Sleestak Leader, and did the Sleestak ever use and other weapons then crossbows.
P.S. I think Zarn is the best

Man, you have never saw the original LOTL????
Buy the videos now, you need it! :)
About your questions: yes, there was another sleestak that knew to talk, his name was Slech (or something) but it was just in an episode.
I don't remember the sleestaks using any other weapon than those crossbows...

Hey Zarn! Did you know you too can visit
Land of the Lost?!
The 90's version was filmed on location at
Descanso Gardens near Los Angeles, its in
a town/community called LaCanada-Flintridge
in California! A 20 minute drive from
Los Angeles!
The beach episodes were filmed at the end
of Zuma Beach! I am sure locals know where
that is. If you live in the LA area try it
out! They used to even have the jungle
tree house but it became an insurance
liability to the park and they were forced
to take it down. Bummer.
But most of Descanso Gardens is recognizable
in the series! :)

it is gone
Boy, I grew up on the original, and it remains one of my favorite all time shows. But I did not like the new one. I found it preachy, the stories were not up to par, it was inconsistent with the original, and I loathed Tasha. Oh yeah, Stink beats Chaka? Them's fighting words :-)
To answer the question about the original, there was Enik, the Altrusian. He was the member of the intelligent race that essentially built the LOTL. He fell through a time doorway to his world's future. A big war happened, and the Altrusians de-evolved into Sleestak. S'Latch was a Sleestak who was born with the genetic traits of the Altrusians. He was a throwback. Finally there was the Sleestak Leader, who could talk. It was kind of an inconsistency in the last season though. Originally, he could only talk telepathically due to myst in the Library of Skulls.

I saw one clip of the NEW series online and thought it was pure garbage......
The sleestack looked horrible and the whole thing just looked stupid........
Land of the lost should have ended in the 70s when the original cast called it quits.. (One of the BEST shows ever)
