I e-mailed Rhino about the possibility of releasing all the LOTL episodes. They gave me a quick response--two months. Anyway, I got the e-mail yesterday. Very vague. They said that if sales on Puffnstuff remain brisk, all the LOTL episodes may be released.

2 months eh? Yowza, no wonder it is taking so long for me to get an update!

The strange thing is, the LOTL tapes are outselling Pufnstuf, on Amazon at least. I would wager to guess that LOTL is the most popular show the Krofft's made, and that there are more fans for this show than any other.

The demand is there, but I guess they just don't see it yet. Hell, if I had the whole set to sell, I'd be rich, I get emails every day asking to buy all 43 episodes!

I hope it does't take too long. I think they should get the ball rolling on DVD release BEFORE the movie is released. I mean it only makes sense to get kids who have never seen the original into the storyline and characters so they can get hyped-up and want to see it. (Not to mention us fans who have been chomping at the bit for a high-quality FULL collection for years!)

I think George hit it right on the head. For the life of me, I cannot understand why Rhino is going all out on Puffnstuff, and ignoring LOTL! It makes no sense. Is there a Puffnstuff.com?

I think that the Krofft brothers favor Puffnstuff because it was their first even though LOTL is more popular.

Its kind of like a parent who favors their first born. No matter how cute and likeable their other children are their first will always be their baby.

Puff-n-Stuff, is also more geared toward kids, and LOTL walked that fine line where it could have almost been geared for adults. I think the Kroffts are looking to cash-in on the whole Barney/Teletubby thing with it. (JP if you read this please don't start a debate over whether or not any of the LOTL characters were gay ala the Teletubbies!)
