I learned English from Land of the Lost when I first moved to this country from the Ukraine! 22 years later, I still can sing the Land of the Lost Theme song....I learned it phonetically back then! What I wouldn't give to have all these episodes on VHS or on DVD!

I want the box set of 43! I remember growing up in east Arlington,TX and watching the Land of the Lost in the 70's. No one would treasure the episodes more than I. I would love to show them to my niece and nephew and someday...my own kids.

A few thoughts:

A boxed set of all 43 episodes on DVD would be awesome! Especially considering that last airing the show received (on the Sci-Fi Channel) had an average of 2 minutes CUT from each episode!

An uncut complete set of the greatest Saturday morning television show is certainly needed! I'll be one of the first to buy it!

Also, I'd like to see, if possible, as an extra feature interviews with Walker Edmiston, Sharon Baird, and the most underrated cast member, Uncle Jack himself: Ron Harper.

I've been looking for LotL for a long time. Of course I'll buy the series -- if it's reasonably priced, that is. At least the ones before Marshall escaped. Let me know when they're ready!

PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAASEE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE release a boxed set of all LOTL episodes!!!
I prefer VHS at this time, but if DVD were my only option, I would buy it most definitely. Land of the Lost was the only Saturday morning program that my five siblings and I could agree upon. It was a bonding experience! Also, I would really enjoy sharing LOTL with my own children - I think they'd get a real kick out of it.
PPPPPPLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSE????!

With only 43 episodes, it couldn't be that much trouble to make a 'definitive collection' box that contains them all!!!

Definitely something I'd buy!

I have been looking on the web for the LOTL for a really long time in a "COMPLETE" format on DVD. This would make my saturday mornings fun again. I can not get enough of this. I never missed this show on SAT mornings when I was a kid. A boxed set would be..in the words of CHAKA....OGANZA...
OGANZA BISAWA (sp) my pacoonie is a little rusty. Just do it already I will be more than happy to prepay for the set...

Y'know, when I read the book, "Jurassic Park," and saw the movie, I didn't think, "What an original movie about cloning and man's hubris." I thought, "Damn that reminds me of Land of the Lost!"
LOTL was the KING of Sat. morning shows. And this was no greasy kids stuff. I remember the episode where the Marshalls discover the "closed nature" of the LOTL universe. All three were standing on a mountain top peering off in the distance. They saw a familiar summit a few miles away with three other people on top--backs to the Marshalls. Holly waved, and one person on the other summit waved to a third set of people on a more distant summit. They were in a sense looking around the world at themselves over and over again. It blew my six year old mind!!
And then there is the story about Enik: are the sleestaks his primitive ancestors or his degenerate descendants? Beautiful!
And the crashed alien ship!
Folks who think it's a story about travelling back in time are missing the complexity of the plot. I hope the movie gets made (what are they waiting for?!) and I hope it wins Oscars. But until that time--BRING ON THE 43 DVDs!
Rhino should hype it up too. Sink some real advertizing cash into it. They won't be disappointed. People love this stuff!

A boxed set of all 43 episodes of "Land of the Lost" on video is something I only used
to dream about. I am writing this post in
an effort to make that dream become reality.

I used to live for each Saturday morning just to watch the show. It was the best Krofft production, by far, and there is undoubtedly a market for the complete set.

Let's make this happen!

Rhino,

Where's the boxed set that weve all been waiting for? Do I hear another chorus of : Marshall, Will, and Holly. . ." coming on. Do we all have to beg for it?
Land of the Lost was the most awsome show ever on Saturday mornings. Some of us can remember watching it quite religiously, getting excited hearing the intro, and even more excited when Grumpy would roar and signify the begining of the episode. Look at us all, pleading for it to happen, would you please release a boxed set for us all to purchase, preferably DVD.
Thanks a lot,
Su the Paku

There is a Land of the Lost cult following here at work and we definitely need to get all 43 episodes on DVD. I parked my butt (just like most other kids of the 70's and 80's) in front of the TV every Saturday morning to get my hit of Saturday morning cartoons and kid shows. I NEVER missed Land of the Lost!

I haven't said it in a long time so I will say it again- I WANT MY BOXED SET OF THE LAND OF THE LOST!!!!!!!!!!! I am growing very impatient waiting for it. Like Verueka on Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory would say whenever she wanted something "But I Want It NOW". She was definately a spoiled brat,(and no I am not a spoiled brat), but I would think that anyone would grow impatient waiting after a year of asking.I am sure I am not the only one who is tired of waiting and asking Rhino for it.

Attention big decision makers at rhino...
I want All episodes on DVD!
The more cool extras it has the more I'll pay!
Also good job on the first dvd. The interviews were super and the menu / time portal effects were just super dreamy, time travel, closed universe, dimensional doorway, childhood flashback, cool !!

Well, if the honchos wont do it, eventually *we* will be able to do it ourselves. DVD burners are going for around $500 -- last year they were $5000, and next year they will probably be $250. Heck, if I could find some good SVHS masters, I could put 20 episodes on a regular CD disk (quicktime) right now. (VCD is just too low quality)... I say if the Big Wigs decide thumbs down, It will be up to us fans to preserve this show for posterity (and our posterior, if you plan on sitting while your watch http://www.landofthelost.com/ubb/eek.gif )

Hi Guys,
I'm new to this site but have been a huge fan of LOTL since the beginning. I want all of the episodes. DVD would be cool but VHS would be OK too. I guess I will be second in line behing George the Chief Sleestak but I will purchase these immediately. I would like my nine year old daughter to see some of the real quality kids shows that I used to watch. Today's cartoons SUCK!
Thanx alot and I hope this is successful.

Tralfy would mortgage his nest for a full boxed set of the original Land of the Lost episodes! That's no joke! I have been a devoted fan of the show since it originally aired during my Grade school years! It was the very best of the Saturday morning line up and nothing has beaten it since! Nothing else remains such a significant component of my nostalgia! Not even Star Trek, Or the Man From Atlantis, or Space 1999, or Battlestar Galactica. In Fact, only "The Lost Saucer" (Also a Sid & Marty Kroft production) ever came close to holding the powerful place in my memories as does the Land of the Lost! I'm only confuzzled by the sad fact that the series hasn't already been released on VHS and DVD. Should have been done years ago!!!

Barry

I am so glad that I found this site which is dedicated to my favorite kids show. LOTL will always have a place in my heart and soul. I was only 5 1/2 years old and Holly was my first crush. I am excited to see that so many people have come out to support LOTL and petition RHINO to release all 43 episodes on DVD. I for one would love the chance to own the entire series.

Sincerely,

Thats a sad fact, robbie. But, I think, eventually (probably within a year) the decision will be made - fans will do what Rhino seems unwiling to do. DVD burners are getting cheap. Fans with access to this equipment will make their own DVDs, complete with menues, etc. Right now, you can get a DVD blank for 10 dollars. I'd bet you could fit ten episodes on a single DVD and retain the quality - remember, LOTL is low resolution and shot using videotape for TV, so we arent talking movie quality, even with the original masters. So, they *are* going to be on DVD, one way ot t' other. Like you, I would gladly purchase them all done up pretty at the videostore, but, if Rhino doesn't want to make any money from the show, then so be it.... my only question would be "WHY"? Didn't they make any profit from the DVD/VHS tapes they already made?
Sigh... http://www.landofthelost.com/ubb/confused.gif

I want this boxed set of 43 Episodes!!
This was one of the most awesome Saturday morning shows that I couldn't wait to see each week. Land of The Lost was not like one of those other run of the mill programs which have faded with time. Land of the Lost was special and unique. The entire series was a breakthrough. It was intelligent, well written and mind stimulating, a real interest holder. It always gave me and my friends something to talk about. And besides, Holly Marshall was one of my first childhood crushes. I used to wish that I could find a Pylon somewhere in my hometown and teleport myself back to the Land of the Lost at least to have a little visit with her. Even as an adult, there is still a little place in my heart for Holly Marshall.
The program was simply so cool!! It could be scary at times but that is part of the appeal of the show. Who could ever forget the Sleestaks with those huge black eyes and all that hissing!! Sid and Marty Kroft created a world which captivated many young viewers each week. I was lucky enough to see a few episodes again when the Nickelodeon channel ran a Sid and Marty Kroft marathon. I introduced my nephews to the Land of the Lost and they loved the program as well!! They were just as captivated by the program as I was!! So you See? After all of these years, the program still hasn't lost its appeal for an audience.
Good TV like this program should be kept in circulation and shared for new generations. They just don't make good programs like this one anymore. I would love to own it and I'm certain that there are many others who feel the same way.

Just make sure you include another cool holographic picture on the outside of the box, like you did for Pufnstuf, but make this one a SLEESTAK!!! :-)

Jeez, what does it take to get Rhino to put these out on DvD. It's not like we are asking for behind the scenes footage(cool), current cast photos(cooler) or model pylons(coolest). For those of us who have aging videos, DvD is the next step to preserving our creations not to mention our sanity. Please, please Rhino put these out on DvD like A & E did for The Prisoner. It can be done. 8-9 disks would suffice nicely. Everyone keep e-mailing Rhino, let George know(btw George, I still love the site but you need more in the sounds category but I digress). I pray by this time next year we can all journey down that river....

When are they going to listen to us? We have been asking and asking and asking for a boxed set.Let it be known that I AM TIRED OF WAITING AND I WANT MY BOXED SET OF LOTL NOW!!!!!!!! Yes I know I may sound like Veruca from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, but us LOTL fans have been asking for a couple of years now and I don't know about you all,but I am getting tired of asking and waiting and wondering when the idiots are going to realize the interest in the series and the money they could make. If they don't want to make money then sell it to someone who does. It is amazing how STUPID some idiots are. But if they are too dumb to realize what they are missing out on I guess we will have to continue to wait. They are probably to dumb to think about selling it to someone else so that company can make money.Oh well I have put my two cents in, and yes I WANT MY LOTL BOXED SET.

Yes, I would buy a boxed set of Land of the Lost! My 4 year old son loves it! We only have one episode on tape and he watches it over and over again. He seems to like it more with each viewing! I grew up watching the show and I would love for him to see all the other episodes. In fact, I came to this website hoping I would be able to find out how to buy a boxed set. I can't believe Rhino hasn't made one yet. Rhino, MAKE THE SET--we will buy it and we will tell our friends and they will buy it! Our kids are dying to see more episodes, so PLEASE MAKE THE SET! You know, those sleestaks creeped me and my sister out big time when we were kids. And yet, we always hoped the next episode would have the sleestaks in it! Heck, we used to pretend we were sleestaks and chase each other (in that slow sleestak way) making that sszzssszzsszzszz noise. Great fun!!

I... WANT... A... 43... EPISODE... BOXED... SET... OF... LAND... OF... THE... LOST... NOW!! Is that too obvious for those boneheads?! We've been asking for almost 2 years now, and they haven't budged. It looks to me they'd much rather lose money than make something that will net them millions.

Heck yeah I want there to be a LOTL boxed set with all the episodes. I was a huge fan of this show back in the day. This would just totally rule. And yes, I would buy it either on video or DVD. Of course, I'd have to buy a DVD player first, but it'd be worth it if I never bought another DVD to watch on it.

Count my vote, as I would definitely purchase a boxed DVD set of "Land of the Lost." I was impressed with Rhino's solo DVD release; it's past due to release the rest of the episodes.

It will be a treat to introduce my child to the various Krofft properties, particularly "Land of the Lost." It has certainly been a *wonderful* nostalgia ride to view the current DVD offering. I watched it as a child. The series still holds up well in 2002!

Rhino -- or whomever is distributing "Land of the Lost" -- please give us the full series o "Land of the Lost", preferably in boxed sets on DVD and VHS formats.

Land of the Lost is the most memorable Saturday morning television program of my childhood. I was fascinated by dinosaurs at that age and so especially loved the appearances by Grumpy, Alice, and others on Land of the Lost. Just a few nights ago I joined several of my friends for dinner. We are all in our mid-30's now. Later in the evening we began discussing favorite cartoons from our childhood. When Land of the Lost came up the conversation got lively. These were 7 adults remembering the characters and creatures of Land of the Lost and having a lot of fun with it - imitating the characters, singing the theme song and laughing. About 5 years ago I had a similar conversation with another group of adults. It was a fun show and a lot of people have fond and playful memories of it. I am always impressed when it comes up in conversation how much people remember about it and how the conversation changes. I have wanted to have an entire set of Land of the Lost for years now. I know that many other people I know would enjoy the episodes as well. It was a popular show. Of all the Kroft shows Land of the Lost was by far the most memorable to all my friends. I have to believe that most kids now would still find the show interesting especially with all the successful dinosaur movies in recent years. Preferably I would have the series on DVD. All 43 episodes would make it more interesting to me. And yes, I would purchase them.

I will keep this short and sweet!!!

These days our programs for our children to watch are not like when we were growing up! There is really no imagination to the new shows.. I can remember with the Land of the Lost feeling like I was right there and feeling like I also had to run from the dinasours. That might sound funny, but that is how involved it made me feel..

Now that I am a mom I am looking for things that my child can enjoy and this show I believe will be a part of that.
I really wish you would come out with the episodes all in one with a box set! It would be great! thanks

O.K. now I'm upset! I was just on Rhino.com and I see that they have released The Bugaloos and Lidsville complete episode boxed sets! Also there is a note in Dr. Rhino that states they have no further plans to release anymore Land of the Lost episodes! You can now have Sigmond, Lidsville, Bugaloos and H.R. Pufnstuf boxed sets but no Land of the Lost! What is up with that! Land of the Lost and Sigmond were my favorite Sid and Marty Krofft shows! I already bought the Sigmond boxed set and I want a Land of the Lost boxed set! I don't plan to buy the others! What will it take for Rhino to release all the episodes of Land of the Lost?

You can buy a decent DVD player for $100.00 and DVD's do not degrade the way tapes do. DVD's are the only way to go. I feel pretty sure that video tape will be almost dead in five years. What about recording? I undersatnd that affordable recordable DVD's will be out in the near future.

I had almost forgotten about Land of The Lost - it was tucked away in my long term storage of chilhood memories. Until, that is, I bought the Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back DVD, and it was pointed out by Kevin Smith that Will Ferrel's character - Marshall Willenholly, was inspired by the Land of the Lost. Not only that, but a cut scene featured an FBI agent whose name was a conglomeration of Sid and Marty Krofft.

All of a sudden, all those LOTL memories came pouring back - very vividly I might add. So I decided to do a little searching to see what I could find on the Web, and this is the first thing I found.

I'm exited enough to know there is something already out there on DVD, but the prospect that we could get all 43 episodes!!!! I would love it! Like someone else mentioned, it would be like getting a small part of my childhood back. And a part that I would be proud to pass on to my kids as well.

Something is really wrong when we have 603 posts (as of this one) saying we want all 43 on DVD, and yet Rhino continually refuses us. We have money. We are willing to spend it, but most of us won't wait forever. What the hell is thier problem? My kids are 5, 5 and 7 and love LOTL on the VHS's that I bought. In a couple of years, they will be past that age. Thie time is right. I really can't understand what Rhino's (Whino's) problem is.

They have released four tapes and one DVD; it is altogether possible that the sales were not all that good. They are probably assuming that future sales will reflect past sales.

The question is, how can we convince them that they will make money by releasing a boxed set?

My apologies, I meant to post a reply to your topic and accidently started a new topic. I believe that it is absolutely essential that the episodes be released on DVD before January 1, 2005. Without their release we are subject to make mistakes in our future that could change our existance as we know it. I, for one, will not experience self-actualization until I have reviewed each episode. How am I to know who I am until I know where I came from?

As for how they survived the 1000 foot fall, we know they were on Earth at the top of the fall, is it possible gravity was reduced significantly at the bottom, when they entered the new land, THE LAND OF THE LOST?

I will buy several copies of the DVDs when they are made available, but hurry, people are dying.

It's fabulous news to finally get LOTL on DVD which should have happened years ago. I don't mean to sound ungrateful here, but why why WHY do these production companies release only a handful or one season of episodes at a time???? All this does is encourage people to tape, copy and sell rerun episodes from cable which decreases future sales of DVD's once they come out. I'm sick of being teased like this!! If they can put out a complete set of Sigmund & The Sea Monsters, they can do the same for all the other shows. Why did they only release 2 episodes of Electra Woman? There were only 8 produced anyway. Don't they realize the fan interest is there to buy a complete set. There is no need for any kind of "test run" for the first season to see if people will buy. Of course they will!! I would rather just wait and buy the whole shebang once the set is complete....if you're gonna do it Rhino, do it right!!!!!!!
