If a tooth came out it ment a shinny new quarter.
String and doorknob a whole lot faster than the dentist and a lot cheaper to.
The biggest TV show of the year was rudolf the red nose reindeer http://www.geocities.com/terrencein/html/carols/rudolf.html

And Multi-Player Role-Playing Games meant you and all your friends sitting around a table with books, dice, paper and pencils.

I hear ya, Khan. I was in a bookstore a couple months ago and saw a guy about my age reading the latest version of the DM Guide. He just laughed when I asked if he still played; he said he just reads the books now for fun- the game's gotten so complicated, he said, it isn't even playable anymore. Remember when you only consulted the books when memory failed?- now, there's charts for everything, he claimed- even riding a horse takes a "skill check". What fools we were in the dark ages of our youth, to presume that any adventurer could ride a horse!

1- You know your old when someone tells you a secret and you keep it because you forgot it.
2- If you or someone you knew had a Bigwheel ' you know the cool one with the hand break that would sling you around.
3-If you ran to the store to get some Pop rocks candy just to find out they had been removed because they were found to be hazardous to your health!
4- If you remember only getting three channels on TV 'if you were lucky'
5-If you had a schwinn bicycle an knew you had the best. ( cherry red please ) http://www.schwinnbike.com/heritage/timeline.php
6-If you remember doing something like falling off the merry go round scrapping your knees and instead of crying about it all day you climbed back on the merry go round and said Faster- faster. and nobody got sued.
7- if you wanted a beagle Dog because snoopy was a beagle ( if you remember winning one at the fair- you know at the same stand that had those stretched out coke bottles

You also know you're old when you can STILL sing along flawlessly to "I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing", and "Afternoon Delight"!! (I can- )

Afternoon Delight = wow so I'm not the only person in the world that still remember that song ( and admits it )
I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing and keep it company - I'd like to buy the world a coke ( now people stand in the shape of a christmas tree while holding these candles ) yea I remember that one also.
Frosty the snowman was a jolly happy soul,
With a corncob pipe and a button nose,
And two eyes made out of coal.
Frosty the snowman is a fairy tale, they say,
He was made of snow but the children
know how he came to life one day.
There must have been some magic in that
Old silk hat they found.
For when they placed it on his head,
He began to dance around.
O, Frosty the snowman
Was alive as he could be,
And the children say he could laugh
And play just the same as you and me.
Thumpetty thump thump,
Thumpety thump thump,
Look at Frosty go.
Thumpetty thump thump,
Thumpety thump thump,
Over the hills of snow.
Frosty the snowman knew
The sun was hot that day,
So he said, "Let's run and
we'll have some fun
now before I melt away."
Down to the village,
With a broomstick in his hand,
Running here and there all
Around the square saying,
Catch me if you can.
He led them down the streets of town
Right to the traffic cop.
And he only paused a moment when
He heard him holler "Stop!"
For Frosty the snowman
Had to hurry on his way,
But he waved goodbye saying,
"Don't you cry,
I'll be back again some day."
Thumpetty thump thump,
Thumpety thump thump,
Look at Frosty go.
Thumpetty thump thump,
Thumpety thump thump,
Over the hills of snow.
wow thats a long song

Oddly enough there's an article in the newspaper today about Gumby's 50th birthday and my family was surprsied that (yes) I still remember the lyrics quite well.
Gumby!
He was once a little green slab of clay
Gumby!
But you should see what Gumby can do today
Gumby!
He can walk into any book with his pony pal Pokey too
If you've got a heart then Gumby's a part of you!
How sad is that? (I still love claymation, though)

You know you are old when:
10. Arcade games only cost a quarter. There were NO continues and we were ok with this.
9. Everybody had either an Atari 2600, Magnavox Odyssey or a Mattel Intellevison.
8. You can recite the entire first season roster of Autobots and Decepticons
7. You recall the summer of Colecovision
6. Klik-Klaks, Skipz-it and Krazy Straws are sadly missing items for today's youth
5. There was nothing like jumping into a friend's pool on a hot summer day. No parents really ever watched
4. No one and I mean no one wore a helmet or padding while roller skating, biking or skateboarding
3. Scouting was not as regimented as it is today (My troop went to tv stations, the police station {I got to be booked, mug shots and everything}) No one worried about sexual preferences. Never came up
2. the back of the school bus was THE place to be
1. The coolest Saturday morning television shows started at 6:00 am and went through until 12:30 pm.
Anyone remember that episode of Davey and Goliath where his grandmother died right before Easter. It creeped me out seeing him walk through her empty house remembering her. It ends with the family in the cemetary saying good bye. Very deep for a six year old to take in.

chopper Bikes where you would cut the forks off an old bike and add then to the end of your own and if you were lucky they would be welded on and that way you didn't have the problem of them Falling Off! at 7 M.P.H and flipping the bike over with you still on it cousing a most "UNcool moment that could last for hour maybe even days :)
