Season 1 the best?

Is there anyone else who finds season 1 to be the best season? It holds my favorite episodes. Most people lean hard towards season 2 so anyone else with me on this? One thing that bothered me in season 2 was the changed "cave decor". It took away the stranded,trying to get home effect a little. Don't get me wrong it had its share of great episodes,but season 1 was better.
In fact i can't think of many shows that i didnt like the first season best.

I've never been much of a movie sequel person either-i get excited but usually let down.(no sexual pun intended!)

That's a tough one to call. It's easy to compre 1 to 3 or 2 to 3 and decide which is better only because 3 was so bad at times. Overall I like 1 a bit better, but that's only because there weren't as many Pakuni stories. I think they overdid them in season 2. Plus there wasn't any effort being put in to trying to get home in season 2. From a technical standpoint, the acting was better in season 2, some of the pure-sci fi elements of the show were a little better, but I really missed Jimmy Haskell's music cues in season 2. I think an episode like "Split Personality" could have worked better if there was some spookier music during the scenes where Rick & Will explore the cave and find the "other" Marshalls. That's one example that comes to mind.

far 2 many pukuni stories for me too. The season 2 episodes i really enjoyed would have been even better with some season 1 way of doing things-if that makes sense!

I think that in general, the good Season 2 episodes were better than the good Season 1 episodes. On the other hand, the mediocre Season 1 episodes were better than the mediocre Season 2 episodes. All in all, Season 1 was more even, but I think Season 2 was better.

What's important also is that there were story & character arcs so to speak with both seasons. In season 1 we saw Holly grow and develop as a character. Season 2 it was Chaka, thus the reason possibly for all the pakuni stories. None of this was evident in season 3.
