Discover "Land of the Lost" At GalaxyOnline.com: Sid & Marty Krofft's Classic Sci-Fi Kids Show Lands On the Internet's Hottest Sci-Fi Entertainment Site

    WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif.--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--June 5, 2000--

"Far Out Spacenuts" and "Lost Saucer" rights also licensed.

GalaxyOnline.com, the largest science fiction, science fact, and entertainment related Interactive Online Network in the universe, announced today that the company has inked a one year deal with veteran television series creators Sid and Marty Krofft for the Internet rights to "Land of the Lost."

According to John Eraklis, director of acquisitions for GalaxyOnline.com, the deal gives the Internet network access to all episodes from the first two seasons of the classic children's science fiction series that ran on NBC from 1974 through 1976. Additionally, GalaxyOnline.com has inked two-year deals for "Far Out Spacenuts" and "Lost Saucer."

The Krofft's will also tape promotional interviews for GalaxyOnline.com. Episodes from all three series will be available for viewing at GalaxyOnline.com after July 21, 2000.

"These acquisitions clearly demonstrate the unique programming opportunities for classic television properties," stated Eraklis. "Each series fits perfectly with our target audience, and will allow previous fans of each show an opportunity to discover it all over again, while allowing new generations to experience it for the first time."

"Land of the Lost," the most popular of the three titles, follows the adventures of the Marshall family who are plunged into a vortex filled with creatures from a different time. The series proved to be one of the Krofft's biggest hits. The pair has created some of the most memorable characters ever seen on the small screen. From "H.R. Pufnstuf," "Sigmund and the Seamonsters," to "Electra Woman and Dyna Girl," Sid and Marty Krofft have over 18 series credits. The pair is also producing an upcoming theatrical version of "Land of the Lost" for Sony Family Entertainment Group.

According to Douglas E. Conway, president and CEO for GalaxyOnline.com, licensing the rights for the Krofft properties is only the first of such deals for the company. "We are committed to bringing big name projects to the world via the Internet," stated Conway. "Science fiction programming is hotter than ever, and we will provide fans of the genre with what they want. GalaxyOnline.com will continue to make deals for previously aired shows that are favorites, as well as develop new programming that highlights the strengths of the Internet."

"We recognize that the future of entertainment is going to be the Internet, and we believe that this particular series lends itself perfectly to the medium," stated Sid Krofft. "After evaluating how committed GalaxyOnline.com is to providing programming for all ages, we believe the site is a perfect 'virtual home' for these three shows. We look forward to expanding the core audience for all of our projects," stated Marty Krofft.
