Classic TV Series "Land of the Lost" Found. On GalaxyOnline.com!
Westlake
Village, CA -- For some science fiction buffs, Land of the
Lost is little more than a dim and distant recollection
of an early 1970s Saturday morning TV show. For others, it's
a childhood highlight, with hours spent watching the hapless
Marshall family fight off rampaging dinosaurs and dangerous
lizard men (the Sleestaks). And for a select few, it's such
a powerful part of their past that the theme song ("Marshall,
Will and Holly, on a routine expedition.") is still ingrained
in the recesses of their minds. Now, GalaxyOnline.com -- the
world's leading Internet supersite for science fiction and
science fact information and entertainment -- has "unearthed" this classic series. Beginning
Thursday, June 22nd, GalaxyOnline.com begins streaming
this landmark program, which follows the adventures of Rick
Marshall and his children, Will and Holly, who are plunged
into a vortex filled with creatures from a strange, prehistoric
world.
The
first episode, titled "Cha-Ka," will make its Internet debut
in the "Retro TV" category of GalaxyOnline.com's "Galaxy TV"
section. Early in July, additional chapters will be added.
Ultimately, the first two years of the series (30 episodes
overall) will be available at the site.
"Land
of the Lost clearly demonstrates the unique programming
opportunities for classic television properties," notes John
Eraklis, director of acquisitions for GalaxyOnline.com. "The
series fits perfectly with our target audience, and will allow
previous fans of the show an opportunity to discover it all
over again, while allowing new generations to experience it
for the first time."
Produced
by Sid and Marty Krofft (H.R. Pufnstuf, Sigmund
and the Sea Monsters), this program is one of three titles
by these well-known producers that GalaxyOnline.com will be
streaming on the Internet in the near future. Other Sid and
Marty Krofft programs set to air on the Web site include Far
Out Space Nuts and The Lost Saucer.
"We
are committed to bringing big-name projects to the world via
the Internet," declares Douglas E. Conway, president and CEO
of GalaxyOnline.com. "Science fiction programming is hotter
than ever, and we will provide fans of the genre with what
they want. GalaxyOnline.com will continue to make deals for
previously aired shows that are favorites, as well as develop
new programming that highlights the strengths of the Internet."
